Message from the Founder
Art is not just an expression—it is an experience, a connection, and a transformation.
The first time I witnessed a live Bharathanatyam performance, I was just ten years old, sitting beside my aunt. But what I saw on stage was more than just graceful movements—it was storytelling through the body, emotions painted in motion, and a silent yet powerful conversation with the audience. In that moment, I realized that art is more than technique; it is a profound force that shapes emotions, thoughts, and lives.
My journey began with Bharathanatyam, training under Smt. Tulasi, and later with Smt. Chithra Prabhakar & Kala bhoovarahan in the Vazhuvoor Bani style. Through this, I discovered that dance is not just movement but a reflection of the human experience. My Salangai Pooja in 2007 and Arangetram in 2012 were milestones in my artistic evolution, but they were just the beginning. My curiosity led me to Kalakshetra, where I trained under Smt. Athina, experiencing a new dimension of discipline and formality in dance.
Yet, the deeper I explored Bharathanatyam, the more I understood the universal power of art. Dance, music, theater, and visual arts—each form has its own language, but they all share the ability to inspire, heal, and transform. This realization led me to expand my journey from being a performer to a mentor. I trained students at Sruthilayaa Kalaikoodam and later co-founded Art-Shaala, shaping young artists across disciplines.
